Special Gloves

I had an opportunity this Holiday to knit some gloves for a special young lady who wanted some gloves that actually fit her.

I did take some video of the fun I had knitting this. A few of those posts and videos can be found by clicking links.

While on vacation, I ran into a bit of a problem. I finished one skein of yarn and prepare to join the second skein. Wouldn't you know that the colors I thought were the same were NOT the same. **crap**. You can see the difference, can't you?

After discovering this while I had some unexpected knitting time in the car on the way back from the Grand Canyon, I was a bit quiet and then let a few choice words explode. I made a few phone calls to Las Vegas yarn shops only to discover that I couldn't find any. I put the knitting down and started making some socks. I did send two emails out looking for skeins back in Ohio. Sure enough, one of the LYS had it in stock! I picked it up from A Tangled Tale in Powell, OH and finished the project on Monday. It was blocking on Tuesday night.

Here's the video that was shot during the visit to Red Rock Canyon.

Thanksmas 2008

My family celebrates Thanksgiving and Christmas the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I rather enjoy this because it means that I'm able to not worry about the hustle and bustle of the holidays by trying to so shopping and such. In fact, I enjoy this relaxed approach to the holidays.

My brother Steve got my name for Thanksmas this year and he made me an wood box with an inlay of my initial on it. It's a great gift. I'm happy and I think he is too with my reception.
