Flower Basket Shawl Lace Class

Hi,
I wanted to offer some clarification on chart two of the Flower Basket Shawl. I wasn't clear on chart two. In the written instructions, there are details on the number of repeats that need to be repeated for chart to to create a shawl in the suggested size. You will repeat all the rows for chart two multiple times before moving to chart three.

I suggest that you place a lifeline each time you complete a chart. Here's a video that goes into more details. You can also use a tapestry needle and thread through with a contrasting colored yarn on the last row of the pattern repeat. The last row of chart 2 (row 34) will always end with the K2, P to last 2 sts, K2.

This video is for the provisional cast-on as described in the pattern.
See you on Monday!

Gift for MamaChris

I knit a shawl for MamaChris. She is the wonderful lady that I met while working at my LYS. She was the person who asked me why I wasn't in a relationship several years back. I mentioned it in this blog post.

I saw MamaChris today at Knitters Connections. She loves the shawl and it arrived at the perfect time. She needed the lift. It came in the form of a knitted shawl. Multnomah

Fiber Optic Booth at Knitters Connection

I'm at Knitters connection Thursday & Friday working at the Knitters Mercantile booth. Just down the way is the Fiber Optic booth. The colors of this yarn takes my breath away. I spoke with Kimber Baldwin who is the dyer and owner. I really like it when someone's passion comes through in their work!

Finished Socks!

Well, they are footies from the Little Box of Socks by Charlene Schurch and Beth Parrott. There are a few really nice socks in this gem of a book. The first pair used Cascade Fixation and the Golf/Athletic Socks pattern. I'm pleased with how they turned out.  I did make a few alterations. I did a K2P2 rib for 12 rows instead of the suggested rolled edge.  I do like the garter heel but will combine it with a slipped stitch heel for my next pair.

The new pair of socks uses the Waves and Piers pattern.  I wanted to take advantage of some of the stripping yarn in my stash and wanted to make the socks more interesting.  This pattern should do nicely.  I'm using the Regia yarn in the Kaffe Fassett Colors.

More details on both these projects will be added to my Ravelry page shortly.
