Those patterns Jeremy has linked are good for starters, but one of the things I like about the cap your friend has is that it is sort of ball-shaped on top, with a sort of flap coming down for the back. I bet you could do something that was like a ball, and then add a short-row flap and a brim. Would be fun to work on that pattern!

You mean like the Inishmore Cap? Or maybe the Aran Golf Cap (which I'm sure you could get better photos for)? Or maybe even the Driver's Cap?
If only there was a way to search the eleventeen brazillionty knitting patterns on the Intarwebz and narrow down the search somehow... Hmmm...
You're pretty and your hair is nice. :)
I miss you, too.
I haven't done any searching yet. Thanks for the start.
It looks stiff. Maybe it calls for some Red Heart.

search ravelry. I know I've seen a similar pattern on knitty, and they used some sort of stiff interfacing-type material for the bill of the hat.
You are indeed pretty and your hair is very nice.

And your hair is very nice, but I have never really thought "pretty" for you, but rather "handsome and dashing".
oooooh, dashing...
That's a GREAT word, Cat.
